really

For some reason when my literacy learner is confronted with the word "fix" he says "flix" then "flex."  After a while he says "fix."  I don't know where the "l" comes from.

Also last time he would see "sells" and say "shells."  He put an "h" in other words too.

Today I got in the mail a poem my friend in Emeryville sent me.  It's good and reminds me of this other poem--Amy Gerstler's "Prayer for Jackson."

I like the way my friend's note says "Peace" then a little heart.  I think it's good to have a different symbol from the word.  But the two ideas really do go together.
